How 21 Ananta Farmers Market collects, uses and protects your personal information.

21 Ananta Farmers Market ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What information we collect

  • Identity & contact details — your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
  • Order information — the products you buy, order history and delivery preferences.
  • Account information — your username and a securely hashed password (we never see your plain-text password).
  • Payment information — once online payments are enabled, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical data — cookies and basic analytics such as your device type and pages visited, to keep the site working and improve it.

2. How we collect it

We collect information directly from you when you create an account, place an order, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us. We also collect some technical information automatically through cookies (see section 8).

3. Why we collect and use it

  • To process and deliver your orders and provide customer support.
  • To manage your account and order history.
  • To send order confirmations and service messages.
  • To send marketing communications where you have opted in (you can opt out anytime).
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.
  • To improve our products, website and service.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We only share your information with parties who help us run our business, such as delivery/courier providers and (in future) our payment processor. We require them to protect your information. We do not sell your personal information. We will not disclose your information overseas unless required to provide a service to you, and only with appropriate safeguards.

5. Direct marketing

We will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to opt out at any time.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including secure (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to data. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information.

7. Access and correction

You can access and update most of your personal information at any time through your account dashboard. You may also request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable period.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your shopping basket, and we may use basic analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features (like checkout) may not work properly.

9. Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax records must be kept for the period required by the Australian Taxation Office).
